Justice, Justice ~ When there is no Justice ~

Habakkuk’s Complaint

How long, Lord, must I call for help,
    but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”
    but you do not save?
Why do you make me look at injustice?
    Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?

Habakkuk was a prophet in the Old Testament. He was tired of looking at people get away with violence and destruction. I find myself in Habakkuk’s words.

Where is justice?

The laws of our nation do not uphold the protection of the innocent. I’ve watched as men who rape children get a slap on the wrist and a few days in jail. These abusers leave life-long marks on their victims yet their punishment — if anything, is a dull mark of justice.

It makes my head spin at the lack of justice for these innocent children. Their lives now must be rebuilt before they’ve even managed to get out of grade school. Think of that for just a minute! It is a life-long sentence for the victim.

What about the abusers? Most live their lives out free of consequence.

Make a difference and tell your story! You did nothing wrong.

Every voice that surfaces against an abuser starts the wave of justice.

Let your voice free!

I have the courage to tell my story to help others embrace theirs.
