Jewels, Gems & Gunpowder

I would love to hear from you! Sharing Saturday with you.

Jewel: You don’t just get over a severe traumatic childhood and move on. Just as a person remembers their first bicycle, memories ruminate through our beings our entire life. Why should a survivor of abuse be told that your experiences are in the past, forgotten — just leave them there.

Do they leave the memories of their grandmother behind? Or their favorite pet? What about their first broken bone they received.

Our lives are the sum of our experiences. Today, yesterday and tomorrow. I’ve learned to be at peace most of the time and my experiences live with me. All of them. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

That’s just reality.

Gem: God won’t love me more today if I live perfectly. God won’t love me less if I fail. His unconditional love is steady, tried, and true. I need to recognize that more. I need that kind of love. What a blanket to have!

Metaphorical Gunpowder: Image. Image. Image. I am so sick and tired of “image.” It gets old. I’m going to look in the mirror less this week. Why not?

Leave your jewel, a gem or something you kept yourself free from with metaphorical gunpowder. I would love it hear from you.

Happy Saturday!
