Jewels, Gems & Gunpowder

I would love to hear from you! Sharing Saturday with you.

Jewel: Regret! It’s a strong tool that can be used positively or negatively.

Fear once dominated my life. As my ex-husband would tell me, “Jodie, you were afraid of everything.” Indeed, I was.

Too scared to crawl away from an abusive marriage, me and my children existed in shameful conduct and endured far more than God would have ever asked us to.

That’s my bad!

I do not, however, hold myself in contempt for those miserable years any more. Regret does not restrict my movement today. I feel free. Free to make mistakes — free to enjoy the air of a magnificent sunset.

Regret is a very real thing. I try to live without it today by making decisions from a heart that is not encumbered by fear.

Gem: I believe that every person that is not by me today was designed by a loving God who would not allow them to stay.

Metaphorical Gunpowder: God’s love for me today can be no more unconditional than it was yesterday. Tomorrow His love remains the same. That is the kind of love that changes me. He never leaves. He never says I am too much. He listens. He is kind and He cares.

Leave your jewel, a gem or something you kept yourself free from with metaphorical gunpowder.

Happy Saturday!
