Jewels, Gems & Gunpowder

I would love to hear from you! Sharing Saturday with you.

Jewel:

Hope! It is the very essence of my life that abusers could not take from me. Against all odds, I maintained HOPE.

Gem:

H appiness gained through the belief that something good is coming.

O ptimism when the rain seems to not end.

P ositive outcomes will happen.

E ternally grateful that God will not leave my side.

Metaphorical Gunpowder: When I have a childhood memory why is it called a “flashback.” When someone else has a childhood memory — why is their memory called a “memory.”

For me to carry on in life like I am not forever broken, I need to value the same human experiences the guy next to me has.

So, last week when I was bathing and remembered the bloody water that surrounded the murdered woman in the bathtub in that motel room in 1968 — I choose to carry it with me simply as a “memory.” I don’t want to call it a flashback — unless you call your old memories “flashbacks.”

Leave your jewel, a gem or something you kept yourself free from with metaphorical gunpowder.

Remember, the only scars in heaven will be the ones on Jesus! Life does get better.

Happy Saturday!
