Jewels, Gems & Gunpowder

I would love to hear from you! Sharing Saturday with you.

Jewel: I’ve learned that I am still a good daughter even though the honoring of my parents looks different than most. What do I mean? They are abusers. Neither of them nourished me, upheld me, nor did they protect me.

How then I am to honor them?

In my heart, I do. I’m thankful I was given life. I am thankful for my beauty — that was a gift from them. I choose to honor the good parts of them. The hatred and deceit I leave with them. I surrender them fully into the hands of God.

It’s not my job to fix them.

Gem: Don’t walk beside an unrepentant abusers. They will harm you.

Metaphorical Gunpowder: “A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.” Proverbs 18:2. I’m going to look for understanding and leave some of my opinions behind.

Leave your jewel, a gem or something you kept yourself free from with metaphorical gunpowder.

Happy Saturday!
